This summer, I am excited to be joining the Impact Arts team in delivering their popular summer school programme, Gallery 37. I will be taking on the role of creative director, and very much look forward to getting to know all of the staff and young participants. It looks like it’s going to be a great summer for us all!
Gallery 37 is a summer arts programme aimed at 14-19 year olds, in particular those who are at risk of disengaging with mainstream education. The programme aims to support the young person back into education or positive engagement.
Its purpose is to attract artistically inclined young people to work alongside professional, trained artists on a range of creative and artistic activities, learning a variety of skills that could then translate to the workplace. Through positive relationships with adults and their peers, Gallery 37 participants are exposed to creative learning opportunities within their neighbourhoods and community areas.
